Custom batch processing control panel

This is a complete custom Batch Processing Control panel. It includes two Seametrics FT520 batch controllers mounted in a NEMA IV stainless steel enclosure. This system allows the customer to batch two separate liquids to two different mix tanks. It can be set up as desired, with more products and/or mix tanks.

The panel includes the necessary controls to connect to two pumps with variable frequency drives and 4 pneumatic control valves (2 per tank).

How the batch processing control panel works

The functionality is as follows:  

a) The desired quantity needing to be delivered is entered in the FT520 batch controller, then select the destination mix tank and press start.

b) The controller opens the correct valve and starts the delivery pump.

c) The FT520 receives a signal from the flow meter and displays the volume that has been delivered and the flow rate.

d) When the volume delivered reaches 95% the batch setting the FT520 instructs the pump to start shutting down. The pump starts to shut down but has an extended deceleration time of 20 - 30 seconds.

e) When the delivered volume reaches 100% the valve quickly closes, positively shutting off the flow. 

f) The pump is already shutting down so it coasts to a stop.

This provides a high volume rapid delivery combined with accurate shut off and no hydraulic hammer.
